Studying infectious and non-infectious diseases that are important in animal and public health, the course explains what causes these diseases, how they affect the body, and how they are diagnosed, monitored, treated, and prevented. You will evaluate advanced, modern veterinary diagnostic methods, including lab testing, disease surveillance, and new technologies, in clinical, research, and regulatory settings. Broader themes including animal nutrition, welfare, and behaviour are also explored, highlighting the role of bioveterinary science in food security, sustainability, and responsible animal management.
