Course summary

Our Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning masters degree prepares you for in-demand roles like machine learning engineer, data scientist and AI developer, or for a career in research.

You’ll gain the skills you need to design, build and deploy AI solutions that address global industry challenges in the fast-evolving fields of artificial intelligence, data science and intelligent systems development.

You’ll develop skills in programming for AI and data science, machine learning techniques and model evaluation, applying them to real data sets using industry-standard software. You’ll also explore the ethical and societal implications of AI, ensuring your solutions are responsible, robust and fit for purpose.

The industry placement or research year is a great way to gain valuable professional or academic experience and provides an opportunity for international students to study in the UK for two years instead of one. We offer a two-year international study visa route to support applications for this course.

Brighton & Hove is the UK’s leading city for new economy businesses (Centre for Cities 2025) which include artificial intelligence as a sector. The city has strong links to the AI community and is just an hour away from central London.
