Course summary

Our degree-level photography course helps you to establish your independent learning whilst pushing you to explore different creative mediums. You will work alongside students from other creative courses to gain a fully-rounded collaborative approach to projects and prepare you for the industry environments.

The rise of digital photography has created a huge and growing demand for creative and impactful visual media. Set yourself apart from the crowd with our HND in Photography and you will learn the theory and get to put your skills into practice in our cutting-edge studio with an infinity cove and high-glider lighting system.

You will learn how to produce prints in our black-and-white darkroom and use the latest imaging software in our Apple Mac suite. Get the most out of your DSLR camera and put your skills to the test on live commissioned projects that will set you up for a successful career in the industry.

Progression Oppurtunites
By the end of the course, you will have a portfolio of photographs that demonstrate a sophisticated approach to photography and photographic theory allowing to progress into industry hopefully. Alternatively, after completing this course, you will have the chance to top-up to a full BA (Hons) degree in Visual Media, awarded by Coventry University.

Additional fee information

Students will be required to purchase photography materials such as film, photographic paper. There is a photography store with access to a range of digital and film cameras. Facilities Include a Photographic Darkroom , Film Processing Equipment, Studio and Photographic Stores for equipment hire. There is also opportunities to attend trips to photographic exhibitions and locations as well as welcome talks from industry practitioners.
