Building upon the foundation of the HNC Mechanical Engineering for England, our Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) HND programme offers a structured and industry-aligned pathway for professional development.
This one-year, full-time programme, delivered over two days per week, facilitates a seamless transition for those seeking to enhance their core engineering competencies.
Designed in partnership with employers, this HTQ HND curriculum helps graduates possess the specific skills required by the modern engineering sector.
The programme expands upon the principles established in the HNC, providing opportunities for specialisation and advanced technical training.
Assessment methodologies, including assignments and analytical testing, emphasize the practical application of acquired knowledge, mirroring real-world engineering scenarios.
This qualification enhances employability and helps prepare graduates for advanced roles within mechanical engineering, with a specific focus on meeting the needs of regional industries. The programme delivers a comprehensive and industry-relevant qualification, enabling individuals to advance their careers with confidence and expertise.
This course is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ). HTQs are technical qualifications that have been developed by employers and awarding bodies so students can develop the skills that employers want.

When we review an application, we take into consideration the context in which applicants have achieved their academic qualifications. If candidates meet certain eligibility criteria, we may make an offer which is lower than our typical entry requirements. This is called a contextual offer. Where contextual offers are used, they are used in situations where they minimise barriers to entry for applicants and address inequalities, while maintaining standards.
