Course summary

The MEng in Energy and Environmental Engineering builds upon the foundation of our established BEng programme. It incorporates all modules from Years 1 to 4, providing a strong grounding in core engineering principles, design methodologies, computing skills, and the fundamentals of energy systems. Students also explore strategies for improving energy efficiency in engineering design and practice, with a focus on developing more sustainable and environmentally responsible industrial processes.

In Year 5, the programme introduces advanced, compulsory modules such as Sustainable Energy Technologies, Design Project and, Modelling, and Optimisation of Advanced Energy Systems. Students can tailor their learning through optional modules aligned with two specialist pathways: Energy/Renewable Energy or Buildings, Energy & Sustainability.
