Chancerygate Foundation Bursary

Scholarship information

The Chancerygate Foundation Bursary is a grant for an undergraduate student studying BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management or BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying. This bursary is intended to support and encourage diversity within the field.

The grant is worth up to £10,000 per year for each year of study. This fund is intended to cover the essential costs of living and studying, such as accommodation, books and equipment. You cannot use the Chancerygate Foundation Bursary towards teaching fees.

In addition to the financial bursary, the recipient will be given the opportunity to undertake career opportunities, such as internships and work placements. They will also be required to keep the Chancerygate Foundation up to date with their academic progression throughout their course. The recipient can work in partnership with Kingston University staff to maintain this communication. 

To be considered, you should:

  • Have received an offer to study BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management or BSc (Hons)
  • Quantity Surveying at Kingston University
  • Identify as Black British (African or Caribbean)
  • Have a family household income of less than £25,000 per annum
  • Be aged 26 or under before you start your course


You should also meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be in the first generation of your family to progress to higher education (i.e. if a brother or sister has been to university, they are still eligible)
  • Identify as being disabled or have a specific learning difference
  • Have spent time in care in the UK, have been a foyer resident or be estranged from your family
  • Be recognised by social services as a young adult carer.
  • Be recognised by social services as a young adult carer
  • Be entering Higher Education with a BTEC as your main qualification
  • Be a mature student (aged 21 or over on 1 September before the course begins) who does not currently hold a bachelor's degree
