Scholarship details
The Adam Bell Scholarship is worth £2,000.
The scholarship may be available to those who play for University teams, make a difference to others through small, everyday actions or who help others who are struggling on their course or who are having difficulty meeting deadlines.
Eligibility
Any student who is currently enrolled on a full-time programme at Edge Hill is eligible to be considered for this award in academic year 2024/25, excluding students on courses of one-year or less in duration and those in the final year of courses which are longer than one year.
Permanent employees of the University, repeat year students and Erasmus students are not eligible for this award.
Please note: It is not possible to receive multiple scholarships in recognition of the same achievement. If you have previously been awarded a scholarship by Edge Hill University, a different achievement must be outlined in any nominations for the Adam Bell Scholarship.
About Adam Bell
Adam Bell worked as the first Scholarships Administrator, and subsequently as an Assistant Registrar, in Academic Registry at Edge Hill University until his sudden death in July 2011 from a brain haemorrhage at the age of 27.
Adam was a delightful young man with a zest for life, a philosophy of giving to those less fortunate, and with a really promising future ahead of him. The personal qualities exemplified by Adam are reflected in the spirit and values of this scholarship.
