Scholarship details
The Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award is worth £500.
You should be able to demonstrate that you have the potential for further development in your writing and also be able to outline how a £500 Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award would benefit and support your future writing career.
We will also take the demonstration of promise in the face of adversity into consideration, where you have demonstrated promise and talent in creative writing and had to overcome exceptional circumstances.
Eligibility
Any student who is currently enrolled on a full-time programme at Edge Hill is eligible to be considered for this award in academic year 2025/26, excluding students on courses of one-year or less in duration and those in the final year of courses which are longer than one year.
Permanent employees of the University, repeat year students and Erasmus students are not eligible for this award.
Please note, it is not possible to receive multiple scholarships in recognition of the same achievement. If you have previously been awarded a scholarship by Edge Hill University, a different achievement must be outlined in any applications for the Rhiannon Evans Poetry Award.
About Rhiannon Evans
Rhiannon Evans was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students and External) at Edge Hill University from 1994 to 2008.
With a lifelong interest and connection with poetry, Rhiannon founded this scholarship on her retirement.
