Southampton Chemistry Deans International Scholarship

There are 3 scholarships available to international students applying to study an undergraduate or a postgraduate master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. If you are awarded this scholarship, you'll get £5,000 towards your tuition fees in your first year of study.

Eligibility

To get this scholarship you must:

• apply to study an undergraduate or a postgraduate master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• receive an unconditional or conditional offer to study
• not be in receipt of any external scholarship
• be an international student paying the overseas fee

How to apply

To apply for this scholarship:

1. apply for an eligible undergraduate or a postgraduate course at the University of Southampton
2. complete and submit the online application form by 22 April 2026, 5pm, UK time

Supporting your application

In the application form, you will need to provide your personal details and the name of the course you will study. You will also need to answer 2 questions:  

1. what are your career aspirations and how do you plan on achieving those goals? (500 words maximum word count)
2. as a Southampton Chemistry International student how might you act as an ambassador for the University? (200 words maximum word count)

How we award scholarships

There are 4 stages to the shortlisting process:

1. we check that you meet the eligibility criteria
2. we score your academic record and qualifications on your UCAS form or PGT application form
3. we shortlist candidates  
4. a selection panel will decide on who gets the scholarships 

This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. The decision of the scholarship panel is final.
