Bangor Bursary
Scholarship information
For full-time students from the UK (excluding students funded by Student Finance Wales and students funded by NHS Wales), the Bangor Bursary means you could receive extra financial help over the duration of your undergraduate degree course.
Your eligibility
Bangor Bursaries are available on top of any student finance and other University bursaries you may be eligible for. Your eligibility for a Bangor Bursary depends on:
- your taxable household income
- you must be studying on a full-time undergraduate course and liable to pay the maximum tuition fee* to Bangor University (please note, students in receipt of other bursary payments e.g. NHS will not be eligible for the Bangor Bursary scheme)
*click here for further information about Bangor University tuition fees. - depending on taxable household income some PGCE students may be eligible to Bangor Bursaries. This will apply to PGCE students who are not eligible for ITT Training incentives.

How will the bursary be assessed?
- There is NO application process
- Your eligibility for a Bangor Bursary will be determined on your taxable household income and your ongoing engagement with your studies.
- Please ensure that you have provided your student finance organisation with details of your taxable household income – parents or partner taxable income.
- Award letters are sent out by post in late February and you can also view on your online student finance portal
- The Bangor Bursary is paid into a student bank account on our behalf by the Student Loan Company from March 1st each academic year.
- Your eligibility for a Bangor Bursary is assessed each academic year.
