University of East Anglia UEABiochemistryMy future plans involve working in a lab to progress research in genetic diseases that affect the immune system. This comes from a place of personal interest because I had a chronic genetic disease but am now cured and wish to help on this front by getting into research. Fatma
University of East Anglia UEABiochemistryHi! I'm Fatma, a second year Natural Sciences student at UEA. I mainly take modules in Biology and Chemistry. I really enjoy road cycling, hiking and just exploring new places. I'm more than happy to talk about student life, university studies etc.... Hannah
University of EssexBiochemistryHi, I’m Hannah and I am an undergraduate biochemistry student at the University of Essex. I loved biology and chemistry at A level which lead me on to choose my degree to find out about those subjects in more depth. I like drawing and reading. I also love music, my favourite artist is Adele. And I also like playing on my piano Rebecca
Lancaster UniversityBiochemistryHello, I'm Rebecca! I'm a Biochemistry student, with a specific interest in molecular biology, protein structure and function, and drug development. During my time at Lancaster, I've completed a placement year at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and a summer internship in the university labs. I've loved my time at university so far, highlights include watching the ducks on campus, losing pub quizzes, and going out for food with my friends! Feel free to ask me any questions about my experience at Lancaster, studying bioscience at university, or applying for an internship/placement! Izzy
University of SussexBiochemistry, Biology, Biomedical SciencesHi, I'm Izzy and I'm a current biomedical science student. In my spare time, I love knitting things for my friends, listening to music and playing computer games. I also love nature walks, which is one of the reasons I came to Sussex. I am happy to answer any questions about student life :) James
University of WarwickBiochemistry (MBio)I studied Biology, chemistry, maths and french for A levels and chose to do biochemistry at Warwick because of the opportunity to complete a paid research placement and complete your masters at the same time. I also love the campus vibes and felt very at home when I first visited. I am passionate about research, especially in the field of antimicrobial resistance. In the summer I will be conducting a research project using AlphaFold to model the Enzymes involved in the production of a gram-negative enterobacterial cell surface protein called the O-antigen polysaccharide. The aim of the research is to build more accurate 3D models of the enzymes involved and test different ligands to see if they can act as inhibitors. These can then be tested for the ability to form novel antibiotics. My career ambitions are not that clear to me yet. After my Industrial Masters I would I may want to go into a research role. However, I also have a passion for finance, so I am currently gaining experience in this industry alongside my degree so to have as many options as possible for the future. Maida
University of ReadingBSc BiochemistryI'm a university student experiencing life for the first time, just like you soon! Feel free to text me and chat about anything Uni of Reading and general student life related :) I’d love to know your story, I’m not scary I promise!! :) Tomi
Swansea UniversityMedical Biochemistry, MSci (Hons)Hi, I'm Tomi :) I would describe myself as scientifically minded, with a systematic approach to working, and enthusiasm to learn and develop personal skills in a practical setting. A possible career goal may be to become a healthcare scientist, with the longer-term aspiration of moving into medical research/industry with a budding interest in consultancy work. Anamta
University of GlasgowMolecular & Cellular Biology [BSc/MSci]Hi! I am Anamta, a 2nd year Molecular and Cellular Biology student at University of Glasgow. I would be more than happy to answer all your questions about the school, my studies, student life (some hidden gems) or anything else you might be wondering! Feel free to reach me out! DIYA
University of GlasgowMolecular & Cellular Biology [BSc/MSci]Studying molecular and cellular biology fuels my passion for understanding life at its most fundamental level. With a strong interest in genetic mechanisms, I aspire to build a future in biotechnology.
