Hi! My name is Klara and I am currently a Maths undergraduate at Durham University and I'm not yet set on my career aspirations, but I am fascinated by the wide applications of statistics. Both my secondary school and sixth form college were state schools, my college being the University of Liverpool Maths School (because that's how much I love maths), so I'm very passionate about Northern and state school representation at Durham university, so much so that my friends and I set up a Northern society in college.

I’m Krish Kirupananthan, a second-year interior architecture student from the UK, passionate about designing spaces that blend beauty and functionality. I’m particularly interested in kitchen design, as I believe the kitchen is the heart of every home and a space where creativity and practicality should come together seamlessly.

In the future, I aim to work as an interior architect for a kitchen or interior design company, helping to create spaces that enhance the way people live. Additionally, I aspire to repurpose and renovate houses, turning overlooked properties into modern, sustainable homes. I’m excited to combine my design skills with my love for transformation and sustainability, creating meaningful spaces for both individuals and communities.

I've always been a creative person, fascinated by storytelling in all its forms—whether through film, photography, design, music, or writing. Growing up in Brazil, I was constantly drawn to the arts, but I also had a deep curiosity for subjects like psychology, neuroscience, and biology, which influence the way I approach filmmaking today.

Before starting my undergraduate degree, I completed the International Foundation Programme in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at King’s, which helped me transition into university life while exploring different academic fields. Now, I’m focused on filmmaking, with a particular passion for directing, cinematography, and screenwriting, always exploring the intersection of film with human emotions. I'm passionate about how film can spark feelings, shift perspectives, and bring powerful stories to life, and I hope to one day create projects that resonate with audiences and leave a lasting impact.

As an international student, I’ve also had the opportunity to live in Denmark and now in the UK, which has shaped not only my worldview but also my creative approach. Moving to a new country and adapting to a different education system can be both exciting and overwhelming, so I’m happy to share my experiences and offer advice to prospective students who might be going through a similar journey.

I did my undergraduate degree here in English and Philosophy I then did an MA in Eighteenth-Century Studies at King's before coming back to Northeastern University London for my PhD.
