I am from Taiwan, and I am now a 4th-year MBBS student at Brunel Medical School. My special interests in medicine include Immunology and Neurology.
I chose to study Medicine because I love science and art, and Medicine is the perfect combination of both. I particularly love the Brunel MBBS Team-Based Learning model (TBL) as it guides my learning journey as a medical student very well. The early placement opportunity since Year 1 has been the most rewarding learning experience for me.

Social Sciences
Hi, I’m Danielle! I’m a first-year Social Sciences student at King’s College London, and studying here has been an incredible experience so far! King’s offers the perfect mix of academic excellence and city life—one moment you’re in a lecture, and the next, you’re exploring London’s amazing food scene, cycling along the Thames, or visiting a museum just minutes from campus.
Outside of my studies, I love cycling (the best way to see the city!) and cooking Asian fusion dishes, always experimenting with new flavours. Living in London means endless opportunities to try new cuisines, meet people from all over the world, and immerse yourself in different cultures. It’s such a dynamic and inspiring place to study.
If you’re considering studying at King’s or just want to know more about student life in London, feel free to reach out—I’d love to chat and share my experience!
Daria
University of the Arts London
BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media
Hi there! I'm Daria, and I'm aspiring to be an illustrator and graphic designer with a focus on children's book illustrations. My dream is to have my own studio where I can bring creative projects to life.
As a third-year student at LCC in University of Arts in London, I'm honing my skills in illustration for visual media. Outside of my studies, I'm a big fan of reading, watching classic films, and exploring London for cozy coffee spots. I also have a deep appreciation for art history and love spending time in galleries.
I'm excited to share my experiences as a newcomer to London and offer insights on overcoming the challenges of starting something new in a foreign country. Let's connect!

Dawud
King's College London
Chemistry
Hi there! My name is Dawud, and I’m a first-year Chemistry BSc student at King’s College London. Chemistry fascinates me because it’s the science that explains so much of the world we take for granted—why things work, how they’re made, and how they can change.
Beyond academics, I’m exploring potential career paths in intellectual property law, where I hope to combine my passion for science with legal and analytical skills. I also work part-time as an aircraft dispatcher, which has taught me valuable lessons about time management and teamwork.
In my free time, I enjoy diving into books, watercolour painting, and finding ways to balance a busy life of studying and working. If you’re curious about what it’s like to study chemistry, transition to university, or manage part-time work alongside studies, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to help!
Devin
Birkbeck, University of London
History
Hello! I’m Devin, and I’m currently in my first year of History BA after completing my foundation year at Birkbeck. I came to Uni seven years after struggling to complete my A-levels and had always preciously assumed higher education was an option that was closed off to me. I chose to come to Birkbeck as there are countless students like me who had a “non-traditional” path through education but have not let our experiences hold us back. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

I'm a second-year Law student, and hopefully a future corporate lawyer (and yes, the reason I study Law is because I watched Suits). Emilia

Forensic Science
Hi! I’m Emi, and I’m currently studying MSc Forensic Science at King’s College London. I’m based at the Waterloo campus, which is where I spend most of my time in lectures, labs, and mock crime scenes (definitely one of the coolest parts of the course).
I did my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester, and during that time, I completed a year-long placement in Thailand. That experience really shaped me, both in terms of my lab skills and my love for travel and experiencing new cultures.
I’m especially interested in applying science in meaningful ways, particularly in forensic investigation, wildlife crime, and animal welfare, and I hope to work in a role that lets me combine those interests in the future.
Outside of uni, I’m very into arts and crafts, especially making jewellery. I’m also part of the art society and love winding down by watching international films. If you have any questions about King’s, forensic science, moving to London, or just uni life in general, feel free to message me. I’m always happy to help!
