Hi, I'm Ahmed!

I’m a first-year BSc Accounting and Finance student at SOAS. I chose SOAS because of its unique global perspective, diverse community, and strong emphasis on understanding finance in an international and real-world context. The course is both challenging and rewarding, offering a great mix of technical skills and critical thinking.

Beyond my studies, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. I’ve spent the past three years leading the 11 Plus department at a tuition center, successfully guiding students through their exams. This experience has strengthened my communication and leadership skills, which I now bring into my university life.

I’m passionate about exploring the intersections of finance, business, and global development, and I hope to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the future. Outside of academics, I enjoy engaging in student-led initiatives and networking with like-minded individuals.

I’m currently studying Accountancy at Lincoln University, and I’m in my third year, working towards a predicted 2:1 but pushing for a 1st. I’m passionate about finance, accounting, and business, and I’m keen to apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Beyond my studies, I’ve taken part in various industry-focused opportunities, including:

Completing the Bloomberg Market Concepts course to develop financial markets knowledge.

Achieving Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Excel, enhancing my data analysis skills.

Winning 1st place in the CIMA Business Game Award, showcasing my problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Acting as a Student Ambassador and Course Representative, helping students navigate university life and academic challenges.

I also have work experience across multiple industries, from customer service and operations to handling emergency calls for the NHS. These roles have strengthened my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

In my first and second year, I lived in Lincoln, which gave me a great experience of student life, but for my final year I’m commuting. So, whether you’re moving away for university or thinking about commuting, I’m happy to share advice on both!

Outside of academics, I’m a huge football fan and love both playing and watching the game. I also enjoy gaming in my free time, whether it's competitive online matches or just relaxing with friends.

Hiii, I'm Charlize and I study accounting at the University of Westminster! I'm currently the events coordinator for Baking Society and a Student Ambassador. Lately, I've been obsessed with The Sims 4 and literally cannot get enough of it lol. I also love to crochet and I'm a member of the Crochet Society. Assalammualaikum and Hi! I am Farah, currently is in my 3rd year in Accounting and Finance. I start to have interest in accounting and finance since I study Business Management in my IB Diploma programme. From there I discover that I love accounting numbers and doing management. My name is Ganiu Olamilekan Durowoju, but you can call me Ola. I’m currently in my final year at Bangor University, studying Accounting and Finance. I specifically chose Bangor University because the Bangor Business School is renowned for its excellence in higher education within the UK. During my second year, I engaged in the University Business Challenge (UBC), a dynamic competition designed to enhance employability through practical business simulations. This experience developed my skills in analytics, time management, influencing, and leadership.

In the world of numbers, I feel right at home! My passion lies in data analysis and the exciting world of investment.  This led me to create investment portfolios, and I hope to build a career in this dynamic field.
