Hi! I’m Aman, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Southampton. I’m passionate about medicine, research, and making higher education more accessible to everyone, regardless of background.

I have a strong interest in surgery and academic medicine, and I’m currently involved in lab-based research alongside my degree. I love understanding the science behind disease and how research translates into real patient care.

Outside of placements and studying, I really enjoy mentoring students applying to medicine and creating educational content to help others navigate the application process and med school life.

I enjoy developing myself as a student, learning new skills and interacting with people. A favorite pastime of mine is reading, especially thrillers but I'm open to other genres as well. 
I'm originally from India, specifically from Lucknow, the city of Nawabs (and Tunday kababs), and relish trying new foods and connecting with people from different cultures through their traditions :) Having grown up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that is the place I call home. The links I have to all these different places has given me a broader worldview, and allowed me to experience life from a different lens.

I am from Taiwan, and I am now a 4th-year MBBS student at Brunel Medical School. My special interests in medicine include Immunology and Cardiology. 
I chose to study Medicine because I love science and art, and Medicine is the perfect combination of both. I particularly love the Brunel MBBS Team-Based Learning model (TBL) as it guides my learning journey as a medical student very well. The early placement opportunity since Year 1 has been the most rewarding learning experience for me.

My academic background is in Biomedical Science (BSc, University of Hull) and Women and Children’s Health (MSc, King’s College London). I am currently a first year Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) student at Swansea University, where I also completed my undergraduate degree in Medical Biochemistry. I originally wanted to study medicine before starting my biochemistry degree, and that interest continued to grow during my undergraduate studies.

At the moment, I am still keeping an open mind about which specialty I would like to pursue. So far, I have particularly enjoyed paediatrics, A&E, neuro, and surgery! I am looking forward to experiencing a wider range of specialties during medical school to better understand where I might fit best.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy being apart of Medics hockey and travelling- with my favourite country being Australia!

I went to St Andrews for the first 3 years of my degree and am now completing my clinical years in Glasgow.
