Hey! I’m Basirah, a third-year Nursing student at King’s College London. When I started uni, I had so many questions and wasn’t always sure where I’d find my place — but getting involved in societies like the Afro Caribbean Medical Society (ACMS) and The Nightingale Society really helped me find my community. I’m passionate about caring for others and making sure people feel seen, especially in healthcare spaces. If you’re thinking about coming to KCL or just figuring things out, I’d love to share my experiences and help however I can!

I have studied a BA in Social Policy, Crime and Criminal Justice at the University of York and decided to work two years in the industry. I worked as an early intervention caseworker, advocating for children’s and youth’s rights fleeing abuse or in gang related violence. I am studying a MA in International Child Rights and development at Kings College London, with the aim of becoming an International Children’s Rights lawyer with expertise in post-conflict areas and war related crimes.
