My college is St. Mary's, and I highly recommend it - most of the friends I've made here are from Mary's as well, the community is very nice in general (I'm currently involved in the Book Club, but there are so many more societies!), and the cherry blossoms are beautiful in the spring. I'm open to discussing anything about Durham, from adjusting to the teaching and learning methods from a non-A-levels background, to the collegiate system, to food and weather (it actually rains less than you think). I am also undertaking the TEFL diploma course which will aid me in teaching English in Milano, and an advanced Italian course to develop my language learning! As a child of immigrants, I have always paid attention to the news, regardless if I thought it be interesting or not, because I had family living under a tyrannic government. This constant attention to news channels, whether that be on the TV or written, became a part of my daily life, naturally. And so, my passion for information and to enable others to be cognizant of certain situations, injustices, etc. transpired. This passion grew over time and by the age of 7, it had transformed into wanting to become an investigative journalist and write everything I experienced and how it differs from other personal experiences.
