Hello! My name is Charlene, a second year Politics & International Relations student. I am originally from Ghana, but I have lived in London for about 5 years now, having done my GCSEs and A Levels here in the UK. I love to read, I love to write and have chill days cuddled up on my bed with a blanket watching Netflix. As a first-generation immigrant, born in Italy to Bangladeshi parents and raised in the UK, my perspective on international relations was shaped from a young age by diverse background. This unique background, situated at the crossroads of different identities, ignited a deep-seated passion for politics and international relations. I was driven not only by a curiosity about global affairs but also by a clear recognition of the underrepresentation of people who look like me in these fields. This realisation solidified my ambition to pursue a career where I can contribute a much-needed voice.

My professional aspirations are firmly set on a career within the UK Civil Service, specifically targeting the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
