I am currently studying Sociology with my original aspiration of becoming a teacher. However, in studying at Glasgow I have been given the opportunity to study Politics/International Relations and History. By studying these extra subjects I have realised I have many career options with a job in Politics becoming more appealing. I would be interested in working with the public and have an interest in social issues. Out with university I enjoy going new places, meeting new people and can't wait to travel again soon. Glasgow is full of friendly faces so university has been great to easily connect with like minded people sharing my interests.

I moved to Edinburgh for a volunteering gap year after finishing high school, and I liked Scotland so much I decided to stay! Hi, I’m Susanna
 I’m in my 2nd year at City studying Sociology & Criminology, I really enjoy this course. Criminology, with its focus on crime, law, and justice, has been a particular passion of mine. I’ve delved into the psychological and sociological factors that contribute to criminal behavior, as well as the societal responses to crime. My research often intersects with issues of social justice, exploring how policies and practices in the criminal justice system impact different communities. Outside of academia, I’m deeply engaged in activities that enrich my understanding of the world around me. I enjoy volunteering with organizations focused on criminal justice reform, where I can see firsthand the real-world implications of the theories I study. This hands-on experience is something I believe is crucial for anyone interested in this field.

Hi I’m Tee! I currently am heading into my second year of my degree (but third at UWE as I took a foundation year in social sciences). I’m very interested in Criminal Psychology, the way substances influence an individual’s behaviour, but also the forensic investigation that comes along with it all. I love how multidisciplinary the Criminolgoy degree is at UWE, and how it’s enabled me to explore my passion from such a vast range of angles and perspectives.
