About us

Tameside College will transform lives by offering first class education and training in order to improve employability and generate economic prosperity.

Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, we are a further education college that provides the next steps from school to university and employment. We also offer a range of apprenticeships as well as adult and university level courses.

We aim to support the individual aspirations of each learner by providing first class learning environments and resources. We are rated Ofsted Good and have invested significantly in our campus, to develop state-of-the-art facilities for our students.

HE Graduation 2022

Tameside College’s Graduation is a celebration for all students who achieved a higher level qualification. Their studies have equipped them with the industry-relevant skills that are in demand by employers, and the qualifications will give them a real advantage in their ongoing career development. The Graduation Ceremony is a perfect opportunity for learners to celebrate the results of their hard work and share their successes with family and friends Our amazing graduation for our higher education students for 19/20 and 20/21, took place at Dukinfield Town Hall on Thursday 26th May 2022. What makes us different

Tameside College has a reputation for providing the right skills for local, regional and national employers. This includes the delivery of degree courses to meet the demand of higher level skills that businesses require.

In a survey of employers (summer 2016) the CBI reported the following needs:

77% of businesses expect to have more job openings for people with higher level skills.
The demand for leadership and management skills has increased to 67%.
The proportion of businesses (69%) not confident there will be enough people available in the future with the skills to fill their high-skilled jobs has reached a new high.

Degree level qualifications will make you more attractive to employers and more competitive in the job market.

The tutors were extremely supported, and they helped guide me through the course, and provided great feedback on my assessments so that I could reach my full potential. Following on completion of the course, I have been offered a permanent position teaching.
