Peter Symonds' College

Adult and Higher Education is a division of Peter Symonds college. At our Stoney Lane campus you can study towards a full honours degree whilst continuing to work full-time, gain the qualifications necessary for degree level study, or train for a new career in a variety of subject areas.

We offer three comprehensive degree pathways within Education & Childcare, with courses in Early Years, Teaching & Learning Support, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Students can pursue their education through our Foundation Degree, completed over two years, followed by an optional one-year BA (Hons) Top-Up program. Both qualifications are validated by Middlesex University. Our flexible schedule comprises one weekly session from 1:30pm to 7:30pm, enabling professionals to balance their career commitments alongside academic advancement. 

We offer a Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis, which is a two year course designed for individuals seeking a recognised accredited qualification as a counsellor. Students will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally, using Transactional Analysis theory as a main theoretical model. The Foundation Degree is BACP accredited. On completion of the Foundation Degree, learners have the option to progress to our BA (Hons) Humanistic and Integrative Counselling Top-Up course, with a further year of study.

FInally, we are delighted to be launching in September 2026 an Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy. The MA course is for people who wish to train as psychotherapists working at depth and long term with clients who may have more complex issues. Attendance is in the evening one day per week, plus some weekend attendance. 

All of these programmes have been developed, delivered and assessed by Peter Symonds College and are awarded and quality assured by Middlesex University. Students will receive an award from Middlesex University on successful completion.
