University life is about so much more than studying. That’s why everything we do is geared towards giving you the best student experience possible. 

Campus is buzzing with different social venues – for quiz nights with your flatmates you’ll be heading to The Swan, while Towers has everything you’d expect from a bustling sports bar - think big screens and a games zone. Our Student Union hosts events and activities to help you make friends, plus there’s more than 120 clubs and societies you can join! 

Lincoln has been named most affordable student city in the UK but for extra cash you can find paid work on campus, or head into town to grab some shifts at one of the many high street shops or bars.

What's it like to live in East Midlands?

The East Midlands comprises five counties, with its main cities being Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham.

The region has plenty of history, boasting both the world’s first factory and its first pub (allegedly). It also has many castles, cathedrals and stately homes, including Chatsworth House, which has served as the backdrop to period films like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.

And, of course, you’ll find the gorgeous Peak District here. If you end up studying in the East Midlands, definitely make a trip to explore its rolling green hills, peatlands, and quaint market towns – like Buxton, the caverns of Castleton, and Bakewell (home of the famous tart).

Campus and facilities

Our main hub is a spectacular, waterfront campus in the heart of Lincoln city centre, with everything you need just a short walk away. 

No matter which course you choose, our modern campus has top end facilities to support your studies. There are scientific laboratories, state-of the art clinical suites, workshops, specialist art studios, film and TV studios, galleries, advanced research facilities, lecture theatres, a sports centre and pitches, and a range of flexible study spaces. The campus is also home to Lincoln’s largest live music venue, the Engine Shed, and a 450-seat professional theatre.

We have two satellite campuses too, designed to meet the specialist needs of the subjects taught there. Our remarkable 200-hectare Riseholme Park Campus a few miles north of Lincoln, and our Holbeach Campus in the south of the county, home to the National Centre for Food Manufacturing.

    Hi! I’m Amelia, and I’m studying biology at UOL! I am the course rep for my year and also a student ambassador, and my interests in biology are towards the structural aspects. I enjoy learning about human biology and how the human systems work, and the similarities between us and animals.     Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me.     I have just completed my first year as an Accountancy and Finance student at the University of Lincoln. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.
