Student life

The Marjon Student Union (MSU) is at the heart of the Marjon community. The MSU ensures that every student is represented fairly and equally, offering advice and help if you’re facing personal, academic, or other challenges. Beyond support, the MSU organises a variety of social events throughout the year — from lively socials to themed nights — making it easy to connect and have fun.

One of the best ways to settle in and make friends is by joining one of the many clubs and societies run by the MSU. Whether you’re into sport, gaming, music, or you have other interests, there’s a society for you — and if not, you can start your own.

There are also great ways to earn while you learn. Many students become Student Ambassadors or Marjon Student Colleagues, working flexible hours around their studies to support university events, help other students via community and school-based projects, and build valuable experience for their CV.

Campus and facilities

Our campus is set just outside the city centre, close to the stunning Dartmoor National Park. A regular bus service connects you easily to the heart of Plymouth, giving you the best of both worlds: a peaceful, green campus environment surrounded by woodlands, ponds, and open spaces — alongside the vibrant life of a dynamic city just a short journey away.

Our campus features fantastic facilities: a well-equipped gym and pool, Padel courts, 3G pitches, a gaming room, chillout spaces, a shop for essentials, comfortable accommodation, and a library designed for both focused study and socialising.

Plymouth, known as Britain’s Ocean City, boasts a lively waterfront packed with cafes and restaurants, plus incredible beaches within easy reach along the Devon and Cornwall coast. The city truly comes alive in summer with surfing, sailing, and outdoor events, but there’s also plenty to enjoy year-round — from music and club nights, theatre, and cinema to shopping at Drake Circus.
