Set in the heart of Middlesbrough, with a vibrant and contemporary campus, Teesside University provides students with a friendly and inclusive environment with excellent state-of-the-art facilities.

We have been awarded an overall rating of Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, including Gold for student experience and Gold for student outcomes (tees.ac.uk/source).

We've invested more than £280m in our town-centre campus, giving us a leading edge in digital innovation, top-notch forensic facilities, and sport and health sciences buildings.

Middlesbrough is a fantastic town, packed with all the essentials that a student could want, from everyday needs to something to help relax and unwind. The town is very well connected with short journeys to the many local beaches, the Yorkshire countryside and great cities in the region.

    I’m currently studying Criminology with Psychology and hope to pursue a career as either a child therapist or a social worker. I’m passionate about understanding behaviour, mental health, and the social factors that shape people’s lives, especially in relation to children and vulnerable communities. After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue my studies with a master’s to further develop my skills and knowledge. Growing up in England with Pakistani parents has given me a strong appreciation for cultural identity, resilience, and the importance of representation in care and support services. I’m motivated by the idea of making a meaningful difference and creating safe, supportive spaces for those who need it most.

    I'm in my first year of postgraduate study, but I've been at Teesside for five years now. During this time I've been involved in pretty much every service offered by the university, so feel free to ask me about the extra services and support available! I enjoy cosy games, lifting weight in the gym and crocheting. I also like cooking and have developed some great budget-friendly recipes over the years! I really love travelling, and have been lucky enough to be funded by the university 4 times to study abroad - something I definitely recommend. I also work at the University library part-time so can advise in part-time job hunting if you have questions.
