About us

ICMP, based in London, has been developing and delivering music education and training to students of contemporary music for over 30 years, longer than any other UK school.

With two incredible campuses packed full of the latest musical equipment, unrivalled student access to facilities for studying, recording and rehearsing (we're open 7 days a week, until 11pm on weekdays!) and a supportive tightknit creative community, ICMP is the obvious choice for aspiring music industry professionals.

ICMP - London's original School of Contemporary Music

ICMP programmes are focused on preparing musicians, producers, performers and entrepreneurs for a successful and rewarding career in the creative industries. We're connected to major record labels, publishers, promoters and management companies across the country and the wider music industry. We provide a range of exclusive events throughout the year to give you the opportunity to meet industry professionals, gain advice and insight and build that essential network of contacts to propel you into the industry.

What makes us different

We pride ourselves first and foremost on the continuing success of our alumni – within 6 months of graduating over 94% of our graduates are in employment or further education. And in 2017, we know that our graduates were earning an average salary of £24,000* six months after graduating, which is £5,000 higher than other UK music students.

Key to our philosophy is the understanding that every student is unique. We have always focused therefore on the needs and potential of individual students, ensuring that the music education we provide is tailored and personalised, giving you the best chance of success in the very competitive and challenging environment of the music industry.

ICMP is a goldmine of talent. Every time I’ve been there, I’ve left with ideas, brilliant songs and inspiration. ICMP is absolutely ready to facilitate and prepare students for bigger things, and sets the bar for British music schools nationwide.”
