Students are well supported at LSTM through their studies and very often beyond! We have an international student body supported by our Student Advice and Wellbeing Team (SAW). The SAW team organise social events as well as student feedback. We have state of the art teaching facilities including our new Active Learning Laboratory and our new for 2022 Innovative Immersive Suite.

Our Masters programmes have just been through a wide consultation and change to ensure we are providing a skills-focused learning experience. We are also delighted to offer international research projects in over 70 partner institutions all over the world.

The North West is made up of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Merseyside. Its two biggest cities, Liverpool and Manchester, are global landmarks in music and football history.

The region was the heart of the industrial revolution – at one time, Lancashire produced half the world’s cotton. Many architectural reminders of this era remain, like Liverpool’s Royal Albert Docks and Chester's Victorian centre.

The stunning Lake District – home to England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike – needs no filters, while Blackpool is a seaside adventure.

Campus and facilities

Our campus is all built around Pembroke Place with brand new teaching facilities. Our students use Liverpool Student Homes for accommodation in the nearby area. We are also part of the surrounding Knowledge Quarter including LSTM, University of Liverpool, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Pandemic Institute and the Royal College of Physicians. LSTM also houses the Infection Innovation Consortium.

I have a keen interest in Astrophysics and Nuclear Energy in particular, and my future career aim is to have a role in either of these areas that involves programming and/or data analysis. I am a big football (Man United) fan, and I have also developed an interest in Formula One over the past few years.

Hi! I’m Amelia, and I’m studying biology at UOL! I am the course rep for my year and also a student ambassador, and my interests in biology are towards the structural aspects. I enjoy learning about human biology and how the human systems work, and the similarities between us and animals. I hope to study more about the history of biology, such as fossils and bones in the future, as well as ‘ancientbiotics’ - how humans treated diseases without the knowledge we have now. In my free time I like to help out and volunteer with projects relating to my interests in biology and also tabletop games!
