Step 2: Applying

The Data Protection Act 1998

Before submitting your application online, you must read and agree to the declaration displayed on Apply. When you agree to the declaration, you agree that we and the universities and colleges can process your information and keep a copy of your application to collect statistics and to detect and prevent fraud.

The Data Protection Act 1998 allows you to ask us for a copy of all the information we have about your application. We charge £10 for this service to cover administrative costs. If you would like a copy of your information, please write to us giving your full name, address, and Personal ID, and send us a cheque or postal order for £10, payable to UCAS. Applications are kept at UCAS for three years.

Please send your request and cheque or postal order to UCAS, Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Glos GL52 3LZ.

If you wish to pay by credit or debit card, phone our Customer Service Unit. You must have your Personal ID and be able to correctly answer some security questions.

Privacy of Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003

From time to time we may send out information not directly related to your application, but covering areas of interest such as:

  • funding and sponsorship opportunities
  • health issues
  • career possibilities relevant to your chosen subjects
  • goods/services relevant to higher education (such as student banking and travel discounts).

These mailings are not related to your application. They are for information purposes only. Please note that at no time are your details released to any of the companies wishing to have information passed to you.

Such information may be sent by email, SMS text or in the post. If you want to receive this information, please tick the appropriate boxes when you register to apply.
