James Carmichael is the Country Manager UK and Ireland for Pearson English Language Learning. He is responsible for stakeholder relations and market development across Pearson’s ELL portfolio, with particular responsibility for managing university and other stakeholders to grow and manage recognition for PTE in the UK.

James has over 25 years’ experience working in high-stakes English language testing and international education in a number of roles across diverse markets, including China, Africa and Europe. Before joining Pearson, James worked for the British Council, Inspired Education and Oxford University Press.
