About this course
Become a nurse with BSc Nursing (Child) at the University of Southampton, a course ranked 3rd in the UK and 13th in the world (QS World Rankings by Subject 2026), and shape the future of healthcare.
On your three-year Nursing degree you'll develop the wide-ranging skills needed to provide evidence-based and compassionate nursing care to children through an extensive range of placements, simulated practice in our specialist facilities, and clinical skills teaching by world-class educators and practitioners. Graduate with the skills and experience needed to build a successful nursing career in leadership, specialist, and research positions in the UK and internationally.

Student support
You'll be supported from day one, both during your time studying on campus and during your placements, by your personal support network of academics: your Personal Academic Tutor (PAT), a senior tutor, and by your fellow students via initiatives like the Schwartz Rounds designed to support health-care staff to deliver compassionate care by helping them to reflect on their work in groups of peers.

You'll graduate from this course with the opportunity to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Child).
The NHS Learning Support Fund may assist your journey to becoming a registered healthcare professional. If you're a UK applicant you could be eligible for £5,000 per academic year, depending on your programme of study.
