Course summary

This is a university level course (higher education). The course duration is 2 years. In the first year you will complete your HNC and in your second year you will complete your HND.

The course is 2 days per week at college and 1 day or half a day on placement.

You will be able to top this course up at university or with us to achieve a full honours degree.

The purpose of this course is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals, able to meet the demands of employers in the sport sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.

The course is designed to reflect this increasing need for high-quality professional and technical education pathways at Level 4 and 5, thereby providing students with a clear line of sight to employment and to progression to a degree at level 6.

Course Content
Mixture of practical and theory based lessons.

Opportunity to complete work placement for 3 hours per week.

Taking part in competitive sport
Coaching roles within community and elite clubs
Marketing roles within organisations
Scouting placements looking at recruitment/talent development
Fitness instructors within local gyms
Operation management roles within sports organisations

Assessment method

Presentations, Reports, Practical Demonstrations and Portfolio.
