Study Criminal Investigation at Canterbury Christ Church University and explore what really happens behind the scenes of police investigations. From serious crime to miscarriages of justice, this course gives you real-world insight into how modern detectives operate.

What you'll learn

  • Investigate how modern detectives approach serious and complex crime.

  • Explore historic and current cases of sexual and domestic abuse investigations.

  • Practice suspect interviewing techniques in a realistic simulation setting.

  • Analyse the role of the media in shaping trust in the police.

  • Examine a real potential miscarriage of justice in partnership with Inside Justice.

  • With access to our policing simulation suite and a chance to work on a potential real-life miscarriage of justice case, this course will introduce you the innovative skills and techniques needed for a future in policing, investigation, and criminal justice.

Whether you're interested in how detectives solve complex cases or you're passionate about ensuring that justice is served fairly, this course puts you at the heart of it.

We know employers are looking for dynamic, open-minded graduates who can adapt, innovate, and collaborate. So we have designed a new way of teaching and learning to ensure that you are work-ready for when you graduate.
