Psychological factors such as sexuality, racism, gender identity, disability, mental health, and abuse are now recognised as critical to performance, wellbeing and long-term participation in sport. Supporting these areas is essential not only in elite performance, but also in rehabilitation, inclusion and public health.
As the discipline of sport and exercise psychology evolves, so does the demand for practitioners who understand the complex relationship between mind and body, and can apply this expertise across elite, recreational and clinical settings.
Our British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited masters course offers advanced theoretical and practical training. You’ll explore contemporary neuroscience and biopsychological models while developing the skills to apply psychological principles in real-world contexts.
This course forms stage one of the BPS qualification pathway, putting you on the direct route to becoming a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist.
Whether you aim to support elite athletes, promote physical activity in public health, or pursue research, you’ll graduate ready to make a meaningful impact in sport, health and human performance.
