This taught Master’s programme is designed for healthcare professionals who wish to advance their practice and contribute to improvements in health and social care. The programme offers flexibility through a broad-based award as well as 13 specialist pathways, enabling students from different professional backgrounds to review and develop their practice, benefit from shared learning, and apply contemporary evidence to improve care provision globally.
This programme supports applicants to develop:
• skills to promote, lead and evaluate innovative and emerging practice
• intellectual and transferable skills relevant to leadership, service improvement and professional development
• the ability to critically review, interpret and apply contemporary evidence to practice
The programme and pathways are designed for healthcare professionals practising across diverse areas who wish to advance their personal and professional development. Graduates commonly use the programme to support progression in clinical practice, education, leadership or research.
The 13 specialist pathways are:

MSc (Cancer Care)
MSc (Leadership and Management)
MSc (Mental Health Care)
MSc (Older People's Care)
MSc (Applied Research)
MSc (Children & Young People's Care)
MSc (Intellectual Disabilities)
MSc (Practice Education)
MSc (Cardiology)
MSc (Population Health)
MSc (Respiratory Care)
MSc (Women's Health)
Admission to a specialist pathway may require applicants to have current or recent practice experience in the related area. The Programme Co-ordinator will provide individual advice on module choices at enrolment.
The programme is offered on a full-time basis, with the majority of taught learning delivered face to face. Students taking the programme on a full-time basis may, with the agreement of the Programme Co-ordinator, be eligible to incorporate a Clinical Practicum.
Please note: Completion of this course does not qualify graduates for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
