Course summary

If you are unsure of the pathway in Computing that is right for you, then this course will offer you a great opportunity to gain a broad range of skills to prepare you for a job in the digital industry.

We have designed this course to be flexible to allow you to complete this course either in the day or the evening utilising a flipped classroom approach. When on site you will be doing practical work with theory sessions that be completed on campus or wherever you find best to study. For day delivery you will onsite one full day with Evening delivery over two nights a week with additional online support sessions during the week to support you with your work.

Within this course you will get the opportunities to develop software development, cybersecurity and networking skills, whilst exploring topics like the Internet of Things (IoT). You will gain knowledge and understanding of the range of careers available in this sector and receive opportunities to speak to our successful alumni as well as guest speakers from people working within the industry to guide you on your journey to employment or your next promotion.

Recently badged as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) the course offers a greater level of collaborative development to work alongside organisations like Cisco and AWS to allow you to gain professional qualifications alongside your studies.

On completion of your 2 year HND you will have the opportunity to progress to one of our top-up degrees here at UCEN Manchester to complete your BSc (hons) either in Computing, Software Development or Network Engineering.
