About the course
BA (Hons) Games Design focuses on the creative and technical skills needed to design engaging games and interactive experiences. The course is designed for students who want to explore how gameplay, mechanics, narrative and user experience come together within professional games development.
You will develop ideas from concept to playable prototype, learning how games are designed for different platforms and audiences. The course supports students aiming for careers in games design, interactive media and related creative industries.
What you’ll study
You’ll build a solid foundation in games design, while gaining professional skills valued across games and interactive media industries, including game mechanics design, level design, prototyping, narrative development, user experience design and creative problem solving.
Modules offered can vary each year but may include:

How you’ll learn
You will learn through:
• Studio-based workshops and practical design sessions
• Creative briefs and collaborative game projects

You will also use digital learning platforms, specialist software and online resources to support your design development.
