Familiarise yourself with the business landscape and develop strong analytical skills to understand different markets, organisations and the global economy.

Specialise through one of our pathways, Accounting and Finance or International Business.

Our graduates are suited to a wide range of roles and sectors or further study.

BA Business Economics is taught by academics who are active researchers in their fields. This programme is recognised by the Government Economic Service (GES) and has professional accreditations that confirm its quality content and relevance to industry:

·         Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW)

·         The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

·         The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Develop your quantitative and analytical skills from the start of your studies. Learn how to apply these skills to real business challenges from a variety of settings, sectors and roles.

Experience using real-time trading information, economic and financial news in our Bloomberg Trading Floor.

Become confident in the core principles of economics and business and apply these principles to the challenges that businesses and markets are currently facing.

During your time with us, you can apply to spend a Year in Industry. Placements are taken in third year, returning to campus after placement to complete final year. Students who apply for the standard three-year programme can swap to the Year in Industry programme once they arrive on campus in September.

This programme is available with either a Year in China or a Year Abroad. The Year in China offers undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). You can choose either the China Studies Track, where you will take courses from the China Studies Degree, the Creative Track, or the Entrepreneurship Track . XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. The Year Abroad offers students the opportunity to spend a full academic year studying at one of our partner universities around the world, following a mixture of culture and/or discipline-related modules. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China or a Year Abroad you will have the opportunity to apply after you arrive at Liverpool.

Additional fee information

If this is your first degree and you are a Home student applying for entry in 2027, you do not have to pay your fees upfront. Instead, you can take out a tuition fee loan which is paid straight to the University. This is available to most students, no matter what their household income.

Tuition fees are subject to increase each year, subject to the government’s regulated fee limits. For UK students applying for 2027 entry the Tuition Fee is £10,050.
