Course summary

The Foundation in Music at ACM is designed for aspiring creatives who want to explore the many different pathways the music industry offers before committing to a specialist degree. This programme gives students the opportunity to try out a range of disciplines, including performance, production, songwriting, and music business, while building essential creative and professional skills.

Students learn through hands-on experience in ACM’s world-class facilities, guided by tutors with extensive industry expertise. They will perform on stage, produce and record tracks in the studio, develop original songwriting ideas, and gain insight into how the business side of the industry operates. Alongside practical work, students build confidence, collaboration, and resilience – qualities that are vital for success in the creative industries.

The course is ideal for those with a passion for music who want time and space to experiment, discover their strengths, and refine their future ambitions. By the end of the programme, students will have built a strong creative foundation, developed transferable skills, and gained clarity about their next steps
