Our foundation year in Football Studies is a great option if you don’t have the grades for direct entry onto a degree. You’ll gain the skills you need to study at university.

Our foundation year prepares you to study at degree level. You’ll learn how to write academically, including how to research topics and use different types of sources. You’ll gain key study skills like taking notes and reflect on your own progress.

You’ll also explore current issues in sport and wellbeing. This will help to build your understanding of the industry, as you engage in key debates and discussions. You’ll then choose a topic that interests you and create a project or portfolio based on it. You’ll think critically, reflect on your learning, and present your ideas clearly. These skills will help you succeed in university and beyond.

Once you’ve successfully completed your foundation year, you may choose to progress onto our Football Studies BSc (Hons). You'll dive deeper into the football industry through a wide range of modules. These cover key areas such as performance analysis, media, marketing, business, and the societal impact of football.
