UEL's BSc Biochemistry and Biotechnology course introduces you to one of the most rapidly evolving fields of science. We're one of the few UK universities offering biotechnology as part of a named BSc biochemistry degree. The bachelor's degree in biochemistry prepares you to work with companies producing and promoting modern biological products, aiming to solve global human problems. We offer competitive work placements to develop your skills, gain insight into biochemistry roles and improve your employability after graduation.
Join us and you will:
develop skills in planning and conducting your own experiments, solving scientific problems in a research environment, preparing you for a career in bioscience
receive training in modern laboratory techniques, from genetic engineering to molecular bioengineering
work with actual scientists involved in biotech research, including insights into new discoveries and innovations
learn about the intricate workings of biotechnology and biochemistry within medicine and industry, developing a robust understanding of theory and practical application.
All of these practical experiences will prepare you for a career in biochemistry, biotechnology or the wider science sector.
