You will study a range of important educational topics including social justice and contemporary issues in education, which will fully prepare you for your professional career within the sector. It will provide a firm foundation for those who may be thinking about a career in teaching at any level, as well as those who may wish to work in the community or with organisations which have an educational component to their work. It is designed to maximise career opportunities in; museums, art galleries, church and faith organisations, prisons, hospitals, charities or international development. This degree will enable students to keep their options open regarding future employment, study and professional development.

We offer work-based placements in the second and third year that help you to contextualise theoretical learning and examine contemporary educational issues in society. Lectures will underpin key concepts and inform critical thinking and seminars and tutorials will enable students to consider, formulate and sustain arguments. A mix of innovative and traditional methods will be used to assess learning.
