Course summary

MSc Global Marketing Management prepares you to become a confident and strategic marketing professional in an ever-changing global business landscape. You’ll explore key aspects of marketing management, from understanding consumer behaviour and brand strategy to designing omnichannel campaigns and analysing digital data, all within a global and multicultural context.

You’ll also develop leadership, strategic thinking and research skills that enable you to tackle real-world marketing challenges and make effective decisions that support organisational goals.

The programme is designed for students with or without prior marketing experience, helping you build advanced knowledge and practical expertise that employers value across industries. You’ll learn through a mix of theory, real-world case studies and practitioner insights, including a unique week-long residential experience that brings marketing to life. On completion, you’ll be well prepared for a range of careers in marketing management, brand strategy, digital marketing and related fields, or for further postgraduate study.

You can also choose to study MSc Global Marketing Management with Professional Experience and complete a 12-month industry placement, gaining real-world experience while studying.

What will you learn?
You will study a range of core modules designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as a marketing manager in a global business environment. The course begins with strategic marketing, helping you understand its role within wider business strategy and how to develop effective marketing approaches across different organisations, markets and cultural contexts.

You will learn how to attract, engage and retain customers by designing marketing strategies and tactics that use contemporary technologies to manage relationships with both existing and potential customers. This includes developing insight into customer value and long-term relationship building.

You will explore digital marketing in depth, with a particular focus on mobile marketing, examining how organisations reach target audiences through smartphones and tablets using channels such as websites, email, social media, apps and search engine optimisation.

In addition, you will examine how psychological concepts shape consumer behaviour and influence wider social trends. The programme also supports the development of leadership skills, enabling you to assess complex marketing problems, respond to changing situations and propose practical, informed solutions.
