Our Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence degree offers a structured route from core computing principles to advanced applications of artificial intelligence, guiding you through a clear and supportive learning journey that builds knowledge and confidence as you progress.
From your first year, you’ll develop a strong foundation in programming, computational thinking, computer systems, and data analysis, alongside early, hands-on experience with artificial intelligence using Python. As you move through the course, you’ll deepen and extend this knowledge through more specialised study, exploring object-oriented system design, intelligent systems, and key AI concepts.
In the later stages of the course, you’ll bring everything together through a substantial individual development project in an area that interests you, while studying emerging topics such as generative AI, Large Language Models, and multi-agent systems. Throughout the programme, a strong emphasis on learning by doing, real-world application, and ethical and sustainability considerations prepares you for a career in computer science and artificial intelligence, or further study in this rapidly evolving field.
We offer this programme with two study options. You can choose three years full-time or four years full-time which would include a one-year professional placement before your final year that will give you hands-on experience in a real-life working environment. This year in industry would give you the practical skills that many employers seek, giving you a competitive edge upon graduation.
