Course summary

We were the first to introduce marketing on an undergraduate level, and we’re at the forefront of the industry today. Our Marketing BA(Hons) course reflects our efforts to keep abreast of the latest marketing issues, trends, and developments and is designed to help you step with confidence into an industry role.

This course aims to teach you key principles of marketing, branding, and consultancy, as well as develop your skills to develop creative and compelling content and communications.

The knowledge you learn from this course can be used to help businesses stand out in a competitive market.

Why Study Marketing BA(Hons) at University of Huddersfield?
You can look forward to a high-quality education here, as your teachers rank in the top five in England for the proportion who hold doctorates (HESA 2025).

On campus, you’ll study a wide range of subjects including:

  • strategic marketing planning

  • creative consultancy

  • developing creative marketing content

You’ll also take ASPIRE modules, allowing you to work on a real business challenge while preparing you to transition from higher education to the workplace.

You’ll gain relevant real-world experience, too, putting your knowledge and skills to the test in an optional, third-year 48-week work placement in your area of interest, in the UK or abroad. This placement could potentially enhance your employability, with the course generally preparing you for a variety of potentially exciting careers in a range of fields in the industry.

You could work as a global marketing executive, PR executive, marketing manager or content director, or you could even set up your own business.

Professional Bodies
The course is accredited by the Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM) and has professional links with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
You’ll also be studying at an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International-accredited Business School. Globally, fewer than six per cent of institutions offering business degrees achieve this accreditation.
