Course summary

The Pearson Higher National Certificate in Engineering (General Engineering)  is designed to develop you as professional, self-reflecting individual who is able to meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving engineering sector.

The course is structured to cover topics such as Engineering Design, Engineering Math, Engineering science and Engineering Project which forms basis for your Engineering professional development and for further study. The qualification also aims to prepare and widen access to higher education for the those who wish to progress to level 6, after completing their level 4 and 5 study respectively.

The units studied have been selected in association with local employers in a variety of industries, aiming to satisfy their future needs. The qualification aims to develop knowledge and skills in engineering that will allow you to make positive contributions to employers as fast as possible and so progress in a career.

Whist this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.
On completion of the course students can progress onto the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering (General Engineering).
