INTRODUCTION

Welcome to BA (Hons) International Esports Business & Digital Marketing (with Foundation Year) at the University Campus of Esports (formerly College of Esports). This course builds your understanding of marketing management best practices and how they are implemented in the new and developing field of Esports. You will apply these lessons back to traditional marketing strategy to see how Esports can influence non-gaming markets. Teaching modules are bolstered by the unique UCES TRI-Curriculum approach, which enhances your social capital through the development of your talent, resilience, and identity in preparation for the exciting and international world of Esports.

WHY STUDY THIS COURSE?

The Foundation Year/Level 3 provides a strong academic and practical base, ensuring you are fully prepared to thrive in your undergraduate degree. Whether you are transitioning from a different field, returning to education, or looking to enhance your skills, the Foundation Year offers structured support in academic writing, research, and interpersonal skills. You will develop essential problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills that are vital for success in higher education and a future professional career.

From Level 4 study, you will be introduced to what Marketing strategy looks like, how different parts of the world treat marketing and strategise within it, and how the vast wilderness of the Internet has developed Marketing.

This will then be developed, during the Level 5 study, so you can start utilising this knowledge to inform business strategy, marketing of a brand, and customers’ requirements from marketing campaigns. You will also develop your understanding of how to design, implement and measure KPI’s of a marketing campaign and strategy to inform business thinking.

At Level 6, we will be developing the industry skills required to connect marketing campaigns with monetisation and wider strategic entrepreneurship for a business in the esports sector. We will also explore how the esports community moves rapidly,
and you will learn how flexible marketing needs to be to match this, and how this can generate new and developing practices in other traditional job sectors too.

THE AIMS OF THIS COURSE:

  • To prepare you for a career in the global esports business or further study with the skills of enquiry, within an evidence-based practice-led, knowledge applied interdisciplinary curriculum and performative research framework.

  • To prepare you with the competencies needed to adapt and thrive in life’s continuously changing environments, employment and an increasingly diverse global society.
