Course summary

Business and Marketing

If you're creative and have great communication skills with an interest in business then this course is for you. A BSc in Business and Marketing will kick-start your career in marketing whilst keeping your options open to develop expertise in other areas of business too.

The foundation year is for students whose school-leaving qualifications are below the level required. It offers one year of full-time study prior to the start of your BSc course.

This course will help you to develop an understanding of cutting-edge theory and industry-relevant practical skills in handling social media, web material, advertising, and broader brand development. Alongside marketing topics you'll also learn essential areas of general business like HRM or operations management to putting the role of a marketer in context.

You'll learn through a mix of lectures, seminars, and practical sessions delivered by our world-leading academics giving you the right mix of skills to succeed no matter your career path.

Qualification requirements

UCAS Tariff - 80 points

A level - CDD

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

The University will consider applicants holding BTEC National Diploma and National Extended Diploma qualifications (QCF; NQF; OCR) on a case by case basis. Applicants must also have one or more accompanying A levels.

Access to HE Diploma

The University will not necessarily make conditional offers to all Access candidates but will continue to assess them on an individual basis. If we make you an offer, you will need to obtain/pass the overall Access to Higher Education Diploma and may also be required to obtain a proportion of the total level 3 credits and/or credits in particular subjects at merit grade or above.

Scottish Higher

Scottish Higher qualifications are considered on an individual basis.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 24 points

24 points in the IB Diploma or 80 UCAS Tariff points

GCSE/National 4/National 5

Applicants should have grade C or 4 in Mathematics GCSE or a suitable equivalent level qualification.

T Level - Pass (C and above)

English language requirements

Applicants should have grade C or 4 in English Language GCSE or a suitable equivalent level qualification.
