Our Chemistry with a Year in Industry BSc equips you with the in-demand skills to make a real impact on the world. Taught by leading scientists who are shaping the future of chemistry, our course provides rigorous training in core principles including physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry, plus the lab skills to apply your learning and understand the power of chemistry in solving challenges and driving innovation. You will also tackle an open-ended project, helping sharpen your essential career skills like project management, communication, and teamwork.
You can also choose to study for our integrated Master’s course (MSci), adding a fifth year to your degree during which you’ll undertake a substantial project of your choice, tackling a real-world problem in the Department or King’s Health Faculties and hospitals, or even the Francis Crick Institute, a King’s partner and global leader in biomedical research.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted
A level - AAB
Must include Chemistry at grade A, and grade A in at least one of Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, or Physics.
Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.
NOTE: If you are taking linear A levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all science subjects.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Access to HE Diploma - D: 33 credits M: 12 credits P: 0 credits
The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.
The Access to Higher Education Diploma must include at least 15 Level 3 credits in Chemistry awarded at Distinction, and at least 15 Level 3 credits in one from Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics or Biology awarded at Distinction.
Scottish Higher - ABB
Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
Scottish Advanced Higher - AB
Must be combined with three Scottish Highers and include grade A in Advanced Higher Chemistry and grade B at Advanced Higher in at least one of Mathematics, Physics or Biology. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 35 points
35 points overall or an aggregate score of 17 from three Higher Levels. Must include grade 6 in Higher Level Chemistry, and grade 6 in Higher Level in one from Biology, Mathematics and Physics.
Notes: The total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE.
IB students studying the new Mathematics curriculum would be required to study Mathematics - Analysis and Approaches or Mathematics - Applications and Interpretation at Higher Level to meet the Mathematics subject requirement for this programme.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H2, H2, H2, H2, H2
Must include grade H2 in a Principal subject in Chemistry, and grade H2 in one from Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics or Biology.
Leaving Certificate - Ordinary Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - Not accepted
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, D3, M2
Must include grade D3 in a Principal subject in Chemistry, and grade D3 in one from Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics or Biology.
Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered.
