By starting your Engineering degree studies at Sussex with our Foundation Year, you can explore a variety of engineering applications and discover what's best for you. You also develop the skills to help you succeed in further study.
Whether you're most interested in automotive, electrical or mechanical engineering, you'll learn from our expert faculty and benefit from our links with world-leading companies. After completing your Foundation Year, you choose which of our areas of engineering to pursue.
Location
Study on our beautiful, green campus on the edge of the South Downs National Park and just minutes from the vibrant seaside city of Brighton & Hove. We’re near to Gatwick airport and just over an hour from London.

A levelCCC
A-levels should normally include Mathematics with a grade C.
Applications from A-level students without Mathematics A-level will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You will need to demonstrate aptitude in higher-level Mathematics (for example A-level Physics).
In addition, you will need evidence of a broad range of GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above (or grade C).
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)MMM
The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma should normally be in Engineering with a Merit in Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems or Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians (in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma).
You will need to have GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics with at least grade 4 (or grade C).
You should also have a broad range of GCSEs (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects.
