Course summary

The MSc Advanced Management (Healthcare Technologies) has been designed to meet the growing global demand for leadership, innovation and strategic management skills within the life sciences and biotechnology sectors.

Our programme will equip you with the expertise needed to navigate complex innovation pathways, from discovery and research through to product development and regulation towards commercialisation.

It is designed for professionals and aspiring leaders who aim to translate scientific and technological advances into sustainable, ethical and impactful solutions for society.

The programme forms a key part of our Advanced Management portfolio, which offers a suite of specialist pathways designed for learners who aspire to lead change, innovation and improvement, which can occur across complex, high-performing, and high-reliability organisations, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), as well as being pertinent to health, social care and entrepreneurial individuals.

Open to professionals from sectors including health and social care, sport, life sciences, and bio-engineering, the portfolio enables you to develop the advanced management and leadership capabilities needed to create sustainable value and deliver transformative outcomes.

This is an interdisciplinary programme, and as such will be taught on a dual campus basis, across both the Bay and Singleton Campuses.

This part-time programme is run over two years, beginning with core MBA modules in Year 1 and progressing to specialist life sciences and innovation content in Year 2.

Modules

In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Strategic Analysis and Management; Navigating Innovation, Transformation and Change; Leading People and Organisations; Research in Practice.

In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Applied Research and Development for Life Sciences; Bench2Build: Life Science Product Innovation; Lab2Life: Technology Readiness; Research in Practice (Part 2).
