Why Healthcare Science (Ophthalmic Imaging)?
Our professionally accredited Healthcare Science (Ophthalmic Imaging) degree is specifically designed to enable you to learn and apply the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for you to deliver multi-disciplinary investigations of Ophthalmic health and disease. You will study a range of healthcare topics focused upon the relationships between human anatomy, physiology, and disease. All modules have a strong clinical focus which ensures learning is continuously applied back to patient pathways. Once qualified, you’ll have the opportunity to work within an expanding field that positively impacts patient’s lives, and have the potential to work as a Ophthalmic Imaging Practitioner, Ophthalmic Technician, Ophthalmic Photographer or OCT Technician amongst other job roles.

This course has been specifically developed in partnership with clinical practitioners in Ophthalmology at Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust. Thanks to our unique collaboration with NHS providers, you will also have access to high quality academic resources that expose you to the latest diagnostic techniques and thus compliment your work-based learning. In addition, all of our academic resources are delivered by teachers and professional practitioners who are experts in their field.
